2019: Time for even more

After a thoroughly action packed 2018 where I’ve learnt many different new technologies (AngularJS, Gulp and more) along with some more protocol-esque things (SWIFT, you and your MT103s and friends, I’m looking at you!) and finally getting a product onto a regular release (weekly!) cadence that had had 4 release previously over 18 months,… it’s time to look forward to what 2019 is going to bring.

At the moment the hit list is:

  • Azure *all* the things
  • Start the process of re-architecting and rebuilding a LOB app that’s been around for over a decade (WebForms and VB.NET, aargh)
  • Keep driving forward process improvements with a heavy slant towards automation
  • Drive monitoring into every aspect of every application. I want to know that a customer had had a problem *the moment* they do, and not a second later

What does your 2019 look like?

About Rob

I've been interested in computing since the day my Dad purchased his first business PC (an Amstrad PC 1640 for anyone interested) which introduced me to MS-DOS batch programming and BASIC.

My skillset has matured somewhat since then, which you'll probably see from the posts here. You can read a bit more about me on the about page of the site, or check out some of the other posts on my areas of interest.
