Pork Loin steaks marinated in hoisin, ginger, garlic and chilli
It's nice to have something different on the BBQ from time to time, a marinade with sugar in it works really well with pork because the sugars in the honey help to carmelise and crisp up the fat on the BBQ

Ingredients
- 4 pork loin steaks
- 100g hoisin sauce
- 1 red chilli
- a thumb sized piece of ginger
- 25ml soy sauce
- 25ml honey
Method
- Peel and slice the ginger into thin batons
- Thinly slice the garlic
- Thinly slice the chilli, retaining the seeds
- Combine all the ingredients in a plastic bag (except the pork loin steaks) and mix well
- Add the pork loin steaks and mix around to coat them
- Seal the bag and refrigerate for a few hours
- Cook the steaks on a hot BBQ until done, turning half way through and keeping an eye out for flare ups from the fat and sugar
