Learning about Azure
As I alluded to in My "Hit Refresh" moment post, I've been making a concerted effort over the past while to gain a better handle on all the things that Azure has to offer, how they hang together and what can be made from them. Suffice to say that even after having worked my way through 17 hours of Pluralsight training, it feels like I've only scratched the surface. THere are a few blog posts I've written covering bits and pieces of Azure, backing up to blob storage, setting up a VPN from Azure to my UniFi Security Gateway and functions that trigger when a blob is uploaded (this is a four part series) but they only cover a fraction of a fraction of the parts of Azure that I've learnt about. Even having spent the time working through training videos targeted towards the 70-534 certification, that's still only the "theory", actually "doing" and knowing how to put it into practice is quite another thing.
That said, I tweeted earlier today about the fact that I'd finished working through those 17 hours and Pluralsight replied suggesting I put the courses to the test and find out my "Pluralsight IQ". So, I did, and was quite pleased with the result:
Though I was annoyed that I didn't score 201,... One teeny, tiny, miniscule point away from that graph shifting me from "Proficient" and into "Expert". Still, not at all bad for someone who knows lots of theory but hasn't spent enough (by my standards) time putting it into practice!
